Holly Rayner from Travel Australia has just returned from a fantastic trip to Australia - taking in the Gold Coast

You will never guess what happened to me on my educational trip to Australia? Me, who is scared of heights ended up in a helicopter over the Gold Coast, at Dreamworld the amusement park, on the highest free-falling ride in the world and swimming in a shark infested lagoon at Sea World. I went quad biking and actually won a car rally, a real surprise if you know what my driving skills are like!!! 

I stayed at the Palazzo Versace Hotel, and actually felt like a celebrity! Unfortunately Ant and Dec weren't there, but I still got a  great buzz out of walking and staying in the same place as all those household names. However, I was a bit cleaner than they were when they came out of the jungle. The closest I got to the jungle was Tropical Fruit World! 

I did manage to see some wildlife when I went to Kangaroo Island. We were surrounded by baby seals, sea lions, koalas and of course kangaroos.  At the end of my trip we had 2 nights in Perth. We were meant to travel on the famous Wine Cruise but unfortunately the boat burnt down! Nothing to do with me, but it saved me from feeling groggy on the flight home.  

All in all, a fantastic trip that I will remember for a long time.
